Johann II of Liechtenstein  10/05/1840 – 02/11/1929

Johann II, Prince of Liechtenstein, was a scion of one of the oldest and most illustrious ruling families in Austria. He was revered by his subjects as a noble ruler and a great benefactor. Wealthy and influential, he spread good deeds on a grand scale around Austria.
 

 
In addition to poorhouses, hospitals and roads the affluent art lover also financed the restoration of churches and castles. Despite his great wealth the Prince lived a simple and secluded life.
